PRAXIS is an editorial project by Matter in partnership with Şişecam Flat Glass. It is positioned as a survey of work

and positions contemporary practices in India, with a particular emphasis on the principles of practice, the structure of its processes, and the challenges it is rooted in. It focuses on practices that have developed distinct positions and sustained specific commitments over the past decade. 

The project unfolds through a process of interviews and illustrated essays, bringing together conversations with practitioners and visual documentation of their work. The interviews trace the trajectories of individual practices, examining the ideas, methods and systems that inform their work, while the illustrated essays situate these positions through projects, drawings and other forms of visual material. Collectively, they build an insight into how architectural thinking is developed, negotiated and translated into built work.

Through these accounts, PRAXIS seeks to foreground a broader discussion on how the studio model is evolving in India. Across three phases, the project has documented and presented 28 practices.
