The site in Moira, Goa was a large site divided in three, leaving the client with a corner plot facing two roads. The brief was to design a yoga studio for the client who is an instructor along with a private residence for the family. Using a grid as a base, the possible massing options of the residence were explored. The challenge was to allocate the private and public programmes of the house, allowing access to the yoga pavilion while still separating the rooms of the house.

Owing to the found landscape of trees of site, an idea of gardens with varying levels of privacy is executed. The massing arrived at encompasses a controlled central courtyard garden, while also spilling out onto the sprawling site. The ground floor contains the one storeyed yoga pavilion. The house is spread over two floors, with the ground floor accommodating the living room, dining room, kitchen and a guest bedroom; and the first floor having a family lounge and two more bedrooms with terraces. The courtyard facilitates a break in the circulation while retaining access to both sets of users. The form of the building is articulated with a protective chajja that runs across the perimeter and two sloping roofs cap the building.
