House in Seraulim
Goa

After careful documentation of the deteriorating structure, a process of minimal intervention was undertaken. The client wanted the house to act as a workspace for an NGO all the while refraining from changing the basic layout of the old structure. Through the design and construction process, the existing doors and windows of the house were refurbished, the roof was dismantled and re-assembled with repairs, a new yellow-oxide floor was laid and the walls were restored using lime and cement. Landscape design enabled the house to reconcile with its historic surroundings and subtle lighting helped enhance the ambience of the new space.
