Our office is an Old Goan House retrofitted with modernity. We work in an open-office system to develop each project through its unique process. The studio culture and design reflects our work ethic and values. We work with samples, models, sketches and drawings, computer modeling, mockups, swatches and all things visual. We encourage everyone who works with us to establish independent thinking and discover personal passions.

The studio works in and for India. We offer architecture and urban design consultancy, curatorial expertise and editorial services to private clients, civic organizations, corporate clients and institutions.

We collaborate with a spectrum of consultants, academic advisors, critics, service-providers and craftsmen. Our work is enriched by their consul and professional involvement.

Apart from professional projects, the studio is constantly invested in applied research / studies, documentation, discourse, teaching and archiving. Our research forms an integral part of our design process. It informs and is informed by our practice.

Public-Interest Architecture

Matter. works pro-bono on social projects and research initiatives for non-profit organizations and government departments. We consistently encourage our collaborators to donate time and expertise to these initiatives as our professional responsibility.
