The Delhi Public School in Pune is a beautiful campus spread over four acres and contains excellently maintained facilities for study and play. The brief was to add an auditorium space and a set of classrooms by adding a floor on top of a square central block. After a structural assessment of the existing building, we decided to add a light steel structure in a non-intrusive way such that there is good continuity between the existing and the new floor. Louvres were added to better protect the new floor from light and rain and the existing courtyard was maintained in its position. The new classrooms and the auditorium allowed DPS to expand without compromising on running classes, time and space.
