Architectural Monograph for Brinda Somaya

One of the most prolific architects to have practiced in post-independence India, Brinda Somaya has designed and built more than 250 projects over the span of 40 years of her firm SnK Architects. This monograph is a chronicle and critical reflection on the body of work, ideas and initiatives of the office over the span of the past 4 decades. Edited by Nandini Somaya Sampat and curated by Ruturaj Parikh, the book has contributions from Mary Norman Woods, Jim Polshek, Tod Williams and Billy Tsien, Arun Shourie, Kamu Iyer and Saryu Doshi amongst others. The 492-page monograph departs from the tradition of publishing a monograph as a ‘catalog’ through a unique format that emphasises of the critical concerns of the practice through the lens of the work.
