The Merit List [TML]

The Merit List [TML] is an initiative by Matter and Takshila Educational Society to recognise projects of critical relevance in terms of design and thought in the context of contemporary Indian architecture. Each past cycle of TML received about 500 project submissions and nominations from across India. The jury of The Merit List is tasked with reviewing all the submissions and nominations to arrive at a consensus on each project selected within the citation and special-mention categories. Over a jury process that lasts one year, the discussions and deliberations are also recorded to bring forth some key concerns (chronicled in the form of essays and notes) on the issues that are pertinent to practice of architecture in India. The Merit List also aims to create an archive of quality architecture projects from India.
