Moira House
Goa
On a beautiful sloping site with aged teak trees, the house and the outhouse frame a private open-to-sky space for a tropical garden to take form. The structures, designed to be efficient, simple and elegant, open out to this lush, light-filled private outdoor space that transforms over the quintessential Goan seasons – Monsoon and Not-Monsoon! The double-height living space acts as a connector and an assimilator space – central cohesive volume where all life unfolds. By orienting the buildings East-West, the design ensures that there is very limited heat-gain and the facade can open out to the North into the central sanctum.
